For Couples Who Want a Wedding That Actually Sounds Like Them

If the standard ceremony script makes you wince, you're in the right place.

I write weddings for couples who want something genuinely personal. Whether that's a polished, slightly traditional ceremony in a country house, a barefoot handfasting in the woods, or a wedding where guests are dancing before the vows, I'm in.

You can have your ceremony anywhere Your favourite pub, a barn, a beach, a back garden, a forest, a football ground. I'll write the words to match the place, the people and the day you've imagined.

The Legal Bit (the Quick Version)

In England and Wales, a celebrant ceremony isn't legally binding on its own. Most couples I work with do a quick legal registration at their local registry office (about 50 pounds, takes around five minutes, often a quiet weekday morning), and then have the proper celebration with me on the day that actually matters to them.

The benefit: you can get married wherever you want, with whatever words you want, in front of whoever you want. None of the rules that come with a registrar-led wedding apply. You write the day. I write the words to bring it to life.

How We'll Work Together

  • 2

    We meet (over video, usually)

You email me, we book in a video call, and we have a proper chat about what you're picturing. No script. No pressure. If we click and you want to book me, brilliant. If not, no hard feelings.

  • 2

    We design the ceremony

Together, we'll shape the structure, decide on any rituals (handfasting, candle lighting, ring warming, whatever feels right), and I'll get to know your story properly.

  • 2

    I write your ceremony

You get a full draft to read through. We revise as much as you want until every word feels true.

  • 2

I deliver it on the day

I'll be there ahead of time, calm and prepared, ready to hand you the moment you've been planning. Afterwards I'll send you digital copies of everything, and if life brings you another celebration down the line, you know where I am.

Beyond The Basics

Rituals and Lovely Extras

Rituals and Lovely Extras
If you want to include something that means something to the two of you, I'm all for it. A few I particularly love:

  • Handfasting: the original tying of the knot, with cords or ribbons that can carry their own meaning.
  • Candle lighting: beautiful for blending families, honouring loved ones who can't be there, or marking the joining of two lives.
  • Vow renewals: a wedding ceremony for couples who already have the certificate but want to mark a milestone, a recommitment or just a really good chapter.
  • Blended family ceremonies: including children, stepchildren and chosen family in a way that feels right for everyone.
